Hi, I’m Shariffa
I’m a born and bred Singaporean. I met my other half almost a decade ago in Paris, we got married in Singapore and settled in Germany for a good few years. He is half-German and half-Arab while I am South Asian by roots. My love for food spans across these regions and beyond.
Fun fact: I never fried an egg in 26 years of my life until I moved to Germany after getting married. I never knew that onions came in different colours.
So, there I was, standing in Lidl, completely at a loss. I wanted to buy ingredients to cook something comforting to cure my homesickness but I did not know what to get and the worse part? Everything was in German!
My other half (bless him!) taught me all things related to cooking and I picked up baking through trial and errors.
Now we live in Singapore with our kids but I find myself craving for everything I once had in Germany. Guess the grass is always greener on the other side, eh?
So, this is me documenting my culinary journey.
